It’s a familiar story for Media Matrix, a full-service business communications company in Horsham, PA. After all, providing this level of quality is impressive—but not really new for Media Matrix. What makes their achievement truly stand out is that this success story unfolded not once, not twice, but three separate times…in settings from the tropical environment of Cancun to the heartland city of Madison, Wisconsin…and,
yes, it all happened in the space of less than
10 weeks.
That’s right—the “triple play” unfolded between January 31 and April 7, 2005, as Media Matrix produced three of Covance’s most important meetings…events that both celebrated past achievements and helped point the way to the future. All three meetings were “hits” with both planners and attendees—and Media Matrix did the job flawlessly…despite the challenge of producing and staging three major meetings in less than three months.
“Covance knew our capabilities for pulling together major meetings because of our past successes with them, including live teleconferences broadcast to their employees around the world, in a short timeframe,” Media Matrix President Michael Olenski explained. “But the real challenge here was doing three separate events so close together—we needed to start planning for the April event even before the January-February meeting took place.”
The programs began in Cancun, Mexico,
on January 31, with the three-day Global Sales Meeting, featuring attendees from Covance business units all over the world. Media Matrix was responsible for a wide range of creative and
technical services—creative production services
prior to the event
and then onsite staging, show management, audio-visuals including video, an off-site awards program
to recognize the top sales performers, and support for all executive presentations. All of these elements took place without a hitch and helped to create a highly motivational, upbeat experience for all the attendees. The event, which helped launch the
sales efforts for Covance in the coming year, was a complete success, but for Media Matrix, it was one down, two to go.
The second chapter opened in Philadelphia in mid-March, as Media Matrix provided key support for the Covance Senior Management Meeting, an annual gathering of the top executives in Covance. The meeting featured many of the same elements that had made the Cancun event a hit: video production, live presentations, flawless stage direction, and production and staging for another off-site Covance awards ceremony recognizing the organization’s top achievers. Once again, Media Matrix support was invaluable in helping to tie together recognition of the past with excitement about the future. Two down and one to go—but also less than three weeks remaining until the next event, scheduled for April 7 in Madison, Wisconsin.
