When attendees arrived for the recent Liz Claiborne Cosmetics National Sales Meeting in Dana Point, California, they may have expected something dramatic and unusual-but they probably didn't expect to be transported to a romantic tropical "Paradise." Yet thanks largely to the efforts of Media Matrix, that's exactly what happened-as the attendees were drawn into the story of "Strangers in Paradise" and two new fragrances by Liz Claiborne Cosmetics, Bora Bora for Men and Bora Bora for Women.

"Based on our discussions with Liz Claiborne Cosmetics personnel, we decided to take the exotic atmosphere of the commercial designed for the Bora Bora campaign, and develop an entire tropical environment to surround the attendees," said Jacky Kauffman, Vice President and Creative Director for this event.

The Bora Bora commercial theme of "Strangers in Paradise," featuring a boy-meets-girl story set on location in Bora Bora the island, became the framework for a uniquely alluring product launch event.

Entering the night mist of a tropical jungle complete with foliage and floral life indigenous to the South Pacific, the attendees were engulfed in this mysterious environment. As log drums and natives were heard in the distance, the sound of a conch shell signified that something was about to happen. A Polynesian woman then followed by a man entered in a chase and quickly vanished. Screens immediately appeared from the ceiling and a video montage highlighting a sunrise on a tropical island and journey into the floral beauty of this destination introduced our "Strangers in Paradise" and the story that was about to unfold.
